It's been carved with a map of Middle-Earth, labeled in Cirth (runes). The black cube near the center is the location of Moria. I first noticed this while up at Dolven-View, and ran down to look at it more closely. Because of the limitations of the camera system, it's very difficult to get a good closeup view of this. I have a bunch of images, but I didn't like the composition of any of them ("he said as if he had anything more than an dilettante's knowledge of photography..."). So I settled for posting my favorite long shot, which also shows off the depth of the halls around that area. Again, a thoughtful and beautiful touch from Turbine's art team.
