Five Years at BioWare

Description:

“I'm entering my fifth year at BioWare. When that happens, they give you a very smart-looking clock. Here's mine with my Alicia (Valkyria Chronicles) figure and Zeon flag mug, forming a nice trifecta of nerd. The inscription is a beautiful, subtle laser cut, and hard to see in this picture. I'll get a better one later.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to accept this from Greg and Ray on stage at the company Christmas Party. We were splitting child-watching duties with a couple who disappeared for an hour and a half, causing me to miss the awards ceremony, and nearly costing us dinner. Our friend (and Dragon Age producer) Kevin Loh warned us that they were taking down the buffet. He helped me grab plates of food so we could eat in the hotel room while we waiting for the couple in question to come back and take their turn watching the kids.

Suffice to say that next year, those two will be hiring a babysitter. Yes, I'm still angry at them.”

“Possibly my single favorite graphics mod is Weather - All Natural by Chong Li. It compiles several excellent mods that dramatically enhance the environment. Whether clear blue skies, starlit night, or a pyrotechnic thunderstorm, it always looks great. Better, it improves integration between building interiors and exteriors. Now you hear rain and thunder indoors, and see which house have lights on within.”

Waterworks Vista

Description:

“The Waterworks, looking kind-of towards the Lost Palace.

I have several other "skyline" pictures of the waterworks, but they're all marred by a peculiar error with the multitude of waterfalls in the area. When viewed in the distance, they turn opaque, untextured black. It's very peculiar; I haven't seen this error on any other waterfall in the game (though itmay be related to my inability to see the water in the Cooling Chamber instance).”
